Best Twin Stroller For Newborns
A double stroller is essential if you're expecting twins or if you have two children of similar ages. The best strollers offer different ways for your children to ride such as side-by-side seating, and a rider board attachment.
The Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono is Lauren Ro's top stroller. It can be adapted to the needs of your family seamlessly. It can fit two infant car seats and an infant seat which makes it a great option for twins starting at birth.
Bugaboo Donkey
This is the best double stroller for families looking for a stylish and attractive side-by-side double stroller. It's a larger than the other Bugaboo models however, it is sturdy and built to last. It has a handlebar that can be adjusted to retract and extend easily. It has a good reach, so my husband who is 6'1" is able to easily push it, even when fully laden.
Seats are spacious, and can be positioned in a way that one child is in front of another or so that the children are facing each one. The seats can recline independently from each other. The canopies cover both fabric seats should you wish to. However, they don't provide much ventilation so they can be like a tiny oven on hot days. They do not have a peek-a-boo window that allows children to peek in.
This stroller has an unique feature that lets it expand with you and your family. It can be converted from a single seat (Mono Mode) to a double side-by-side stroller. It is the only double stroller convertible that can do this! It can be used with an additional bassinet or car seat for infants.
It is easy to maneuver on smooth surfaces, and is able to handle steps and slopes well. It isn't easy to maneuver through crowded restaurants and shops. It is also a little difficult to fold, especially when seats are attached. It's still pretty small, however, and does fit through most doors easily.
There is an extra storage bin that fits on the frame to the front seat in mono mode. It is great for grocery shopping and other supplies. The main storage basket beneath the seats is huge and can accommodate up to 100 lbs. This is more than any stroller we have listed!
Uppababy Vista v2
This stroller is among the top twin strollers for newborns. It is compatible with a range of infant car seats and bassinets (adapters sold separately) and can be used as a double stroller right out of the box. It can even accommodate two bassinets or infant car seats at the same time if you purchase the Vista Upper and Lower adapters.
The V2 is an improved version of the original Vista. The toddler seat is about an inch higher, the footrest has more space and the canopy is equipped with a zip-out fabric extender that provides additional coverage. The harness has also been modernized since it doesn't need to be re-threaded. This makes it much easier to adjust.
The stroller has reasonably large wheels (8'' in the front and 11.5 inches in the back) with a strong suspension, so it is able to handle all kinds of terrain. The wheels made of rubber on the front are perfect for navigating gravel and rocks, while the tread on the rear wheels is more suitable for grassy hills or sidewalks.
A child's bike can be attached to the front of a stroller. This is a great solution for parents who don't want to use a car seat. If you have an older child who is getting ready to stand, the Vista can even fit an additional child with its piggyback ride-along board accessory.
Vista is a simple device to use. Vista is easy to use and set up, however it can take some time to take it out of the protective packaging. The instructions are easy to follow, and there's a YouTube video to help if you require assistance in understanding them.
Thule Urban Glide 3
The Thule Urban Glide 3 is the latest version of the popular all-terrain stroller and it's designed to appeal to modern families who are a fan of style, sustainability, and adventure. It's got exciting new features with a built-in knee rest and updated reclined seat that provides unbeatable comfort for children during long walks and jogs. Its sleek and agile design has also been enhanced to allow for better maneuverability.
It is extremely light, making it simple to drive and speedy to accelerate on the road. Its suspension is able to handle sudden changes in surfaces (like grass to pavement) easily and the large wheels offer ample traction even on the roughest of terrain. It can easily climb kerbs without trouble and it turns in tight spaces like streets in cities with aplomb. Even narrow sidewalks and crowded park are not a problem.

While the new Urban Glide 3 offers superior performance, it retains the classic Thule qualities that make it a top jogger for parents. The oversized canopy provides excellent sun protection, an easy peekaboo, a high quality harness system and a handbrake that's perfectly adjusted. It offers plenty of storage space, including pockets in the seat and a large cargo bag that can accommodate up to 15 pounds.
This Thule Jogger comes with a bassinet for strolling infants, and a double version that can fit two children. It accepts car seat adapters so you can use your infant carrier and it has a quick one-handed fold to make it easy to transport or to store. It also comes in a green option with dyed solution-dyed fabrics in black colors to reduce water consumption.
Cortina Together
Cortina Together is designed for families that are growing and provides parents with the option of seating to meet the preferences and needs of each child. The two seats in the double stroller feature reclining backrests, and canopies that are completely independent. They're also designed to take one of Chicco's top-rated KeyFit or KeyFit 30 infant car seats in the front seat and rear seat (car seat sold separately) with the exclusive click-in attachment, without the need for adding bars and straps, like other models that require.
A large, zipper-accessible basket in the rear offers ample storage space for the equipment. The handle is cushioned to accommodate mom or dad. The tandem double stroller 's wheels and suspension ensure a smooth ride on all terrains, while the 1-touch linked rear brakes with toe-tap activated make stopping a breeze.
In our Strollers & Multiples laboratory tests, Cortina Together received high marks for ease of usage. This metric is based on the ease with which it is to fold and set up the stroller. It also reflects the ease with which it is to open and close the snack trays, engage and disengage brakes, and then lift the stroller that is folded and carry it as if it were the trunk of a car.
We did find some drawbacks to this model, however. First, it's heavy. It weighs 36.6 pounds fully loaded, which puts it closer to the top of our measurement. Additionally, it has limited visibility in the back seat when a car seat is installed. The front tray release can be difficult to use, especially after long-term use. Despite these issues, we think this is a great double stroller that can keep up with your family for a long time.
Jeep Double Stroller
The Jeep Destination Ultralight Side x Side Double Stroller is an affordable, lightweight stroller that is ideal for families with two children. Its front swivel lock wheels can be rotated to allow easy maneuvering on flat surfaces and lock to give stability on bumpy surfaces. It has a compact folding umbrella that can be closed in a matter of seconds. It is also able to stand upright, making transporting it easier. Its light aluminum frame, foam handles and strap for carrying make it one of the easiest to lift double strollers that we have tested.
This tandem stroller comes with independent reclining seats to ensure maximum comfort. Its large canopy can provide UPF 50 sun protection. It also includes a peekaboo window for easy monitoring. We'd like to see the canopy vented to let in more airflow though. We were not happy the fact that the cup holder sits very high up on the frame. You'll need to bend down to reach it.
In our tipping-test, the Jeep was able to tip over at a 39-degree angle, which is higher than average for the double pram. It's a bit heavier, but offers more storage for the money. The handle and seats are also well-padded.
This stroller is multi-functional and offers three modes. It can be used as a cart (for things) as well as a jogger mode (with two 5-point safety belts for children) or car seat mode. It can accommodate a single car seat for infants. However, pediatricians suggest that you wait until your child is six months old before allowing them to run with them. It is available in black and comes with a limited warranty. Jenni Gritters has been a journalist and parent for over a decade.
